Hurricane Ida took a toll on our brothers and sisters in Louisiana. We opened our facility to shelter hurricane Ida evacuees. We made sure it was a safe and comfortable environment for them to rest.

The American Red Cross named us the top 10 of the shelters after we took them on a tour of our shelter while our Louisiana Evacuees were present.

NACC not only helped the evacuees that made their way to Houston but all the others that were left behind in Louisiana.

We filled 3 trailers filled with food, water, and supplies.

Apart from the Donations, we were receiving for Haiti, we were also receiving donations for Louisiana.

NACC was happy to receive the good news that all of our food, water, and supplies we sent were all given out to families in Louisiana.

Volunteers and NACC staff members will remain ready to assist our Louisiana guests with immediate needs and shelter for the next several days.

On Monday, August 30, NACC opened its doors and provided shelter for more than 100 people who had evacuated before the storm devastated parts of Louisiana.

Many of the guests came directly from Gallery Furniture where they had been staying since first arriving in Houston.

NACC provides hot meals, shower facilities, a change of clothes, and hygiene items.

The shelter is following all health and safety protocols with social distancing and providing face masks and sanitizer for the families and individuals.

Volunteers and NACC staff members will remain ready to assist our Louisiana guests with immediate needs and shelter for the next several days.

The joint effort is in partnership with the National Association of Christian Churches, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, The City of Houston Office of the Mayor, and Red Cross.

To volunteer and Donate please call (832) 626-7111
